Optimizing Opinions with Stubborn Agents

چکیده
How can we place persuasion agents in a social network to influence population? In “Optimizing Opinions with Stubborn Agents,” David Scott Hunter and Tauhid Zaman present an algorithm based on opinion dynamics models that shows where these for maximum persuasive effect. Using this algorithm, one shape opinions variety of interesting ways. For instance, use the maximize mean order increase support issue. More interestingly, variance decrease, or even increase, polarization network. Simulations real Twitter networks showed that, their small number strategically placed create significant shifts.

متن کاملOpinion dynamics with stubborn vertices
Consider a social network where each person holds an opinion represented by a numerical value. Whenever a member of the social network is given a chance, the member updates his/her opinion according to a certain convex combination of the opinions of all network members. The influence digraph of the network has network members as vertices, and there is an arc from a vertex v to a vertex u if and...
متن کاملOptimizing Resource Allocation with Intelligent Agents
Playing the stock market is one of the many frontiers of applied artificial intelligence. The problem of optimizing asset allocation within a portfolio to yield a return above the market is a hard problem. Current approaches include multiagent systems in which the task of gathering data, predicting trend and choosing assets are divided between specialized cooperative agents that simulate the en...
متن کاملOptimizing systematic technology adoption with heterogeneous agents
The traditional operational optimization models of systematic technology adoption commonly assume the existence of a global social planner and ignore the existence of heterogeneous decision makers who interact with each other. This paper develops a stylized (or conceptual) optimization model of systematic technology adoption with heterogeneous agents (i.e., decision makers) and uncertain techno...
متن کاملDeadlock Detection with Stubborn Unfoldings
Stubborn sets and model unfolding are two well-known methods for sidestepping the complexity of state-space exploration based on formal models of concurrent programs, such as Labeled Transition Systems and Petri nets. Here we define a deadlock detection strategy that combines these two methods. We also show that the resulting method, stubborn unfoldings, can produce smaller state space represen...
